Multitasking on a single screen is just way too confining. But why stop at two displays? Right now, my main PC has a triple-monitor setup: my main inch central monitor, with a inch monitor on either side. I use my extra monitors for a number of things, such as comparing spreadsheets side-by-side, writing articles while also doing research, keeping tabs on my social media feeds, and, of course, watching Netflix. Using one of your monitors in vertical orientation can make a big difference for scrolling long documents.
You can even use your TV as an extra computer monitor! But before you jump in, you want to give your multi-monitor plan some forethought. This guide will walk you through all the factors you need to take into account before setting up three or more monitors. Before you run out and buy a bunch of extra monitors, check to see whether your computer is physically capable of handling all that graphics prowess.
For example, many older Nvidia cards are unable to run more than two monitors on a single card, even if they have more than two ports. If your graphics card supports—and has enough ports for—the number of monitors you want to set up, excellent.
Check out the best budget graphics card section of our GPU guide for your best options. In general, monitors can be had for fairly cheap these days. You can also find smaller IPS monitors at around In my case, I already had two inch monitors, and I wanted a larger monitor as the centerpiece of my setup, so I picked up a inch monitor and placed it between my two inch displays.
If you have a VGA port on your PC or your monitor, I suggest staying away from it: VGA is an analog connector, which means your picture will be noticeably less sharp and colors will be less vivid. Set up your monitors, plug them in, and turn on your PC. A perfectly-formed multi-monitor setup! Well, not so fast. Setup is easy, but there are still a couple more steps. This will take you to a screen where you can configure the options you have for multiple monitors in Windows.
Here, you can confirm that all your monitors are detected. Click Identifywhich will cause a large number to appear on each of your displays, so you can determine which screen is which. A drop-down menu lets you choose whether to duplicate your desktop or extend your desktop across all the screens. They require beefier graphics cards to run, but lucky this article is based on the assumption you are looking to build with one of the most powerful graphics cards ever built — the RTX Ti.
In addition, with a NVIDIA based card such as the RTX Ti, it is possible to take advantage of their proprietary G-SYNC technology available on many high-end monitors — aimed at reducing screen tearing by operating a variable refresh rate — and thus producing far smoother looking gameplay.

This is a beautiful IPS panel with stunning picture quality and a thin-bezel design makes this one of the best looking monitors on the market in Many users reported that the predecessor to the PGQZ, the PGQ suffered from backlight bleed and many users ended up returning the monitor because of this.

The PGQR TN panel offers better motion clarity too, which is better for gaming as well as simply just being cheaper. With the RTX Ti it will be able to push the p past hz to hz, and this really is noticeable to the human eye, and paired with G-SYNC makes for quite the gaming experience.
With the Asus PG27AQ being a few years old, this can be found for a decent discount off the retail price, and thus makes a suitable budget 4K monitor for the RTX we recommend but not over p Hz.

So I just received my new ti xc black from EVGA today and I started having issues as soon as I popped it in and booted for the first time. I had all 3 of my monitors hooked up as well as my rift just like I had with my two tis and it did boot into windows at first, but after a couple minutes all my monitors went black and started to show the "no signal" message on all 3.
I figured it might have been windows trying to install a new driver or something although I hadn't even touched the drivers since I pulled out the tis so it should have worked fine right?
Well after all my monitors lost signal I tried to restart and see if maybe it would bring my displays back, I saw my motherboard's post screen and then right after that my monitors went back to no signal again Ok I hit the reset button on my PC and again the same thing, post screen passes and then no signal again I ended up having to disconnect all but one monitor and boot into safe mode just to get into my windows desktop and then I proceeded to run DDU from there.
That ran fine and I rebooted back into normal windows just fine, still with only 1 screen connected and I installed the latest Nvidia drivers and that ran fine as well. I thought that would be the end of it until I connected the rest of my monitors and I come back from behind my desk to see all three monitors again displaying "no signal" I did mess around with it a bit.
Started by only connecting my 4k monitor and it worked just fine, I was even able to play a full conquest match of bfv without any issues at all.Hilux diff ratios
Then I connected my second monitor, as soon as I hooked it up it did actually show my desktop like normal but I noticed in the Nvidia control panel that it was only running at 59hz. This is where it got weird because when I tried changing it to hz my main monitor went black and I could only see the mouse pointer flashing in the center of the screen so I simply unplugged the second screen and my first screen came back just fine but moving my mouse around felt very laggy for a bit.
Once it settled back to normal I reconnected the second screen a couple times to see if it would keep doing it and it did until somehow the monitor would set itself back to 60hz and it would display on both fine again. From there I started changing refresh rates one by one starting from 60hz and I was only able to get up to hz, setting it to hz causes both screens to go Black again and the mouse pointer starts flashing on the center of my main monitor again.
Alright so I left my second monitor at hz and then moved on to the third monitor since the first two seemed ok-ish now. As soon as I connect the third monitor I'm back to seeing just the mouse pointer flashing on my main screen again So I go back to messing with my refresh rates, I figured if I set them all to their lowest maybe I'd get something but after setting my first screen to just 24hz and the other two to just 60hz each I was never able to get all three working no matter what my res or refresh rate were set to.
From there I figured I should try each monitor on their own. So my main monitor on its own works fine, my third monitor on its own works fine as well even set to p hz, but my second monitor on its own only works up to p hz.Shadow of the Tomb Raider has some baller scaling at 4K and 8K, while other games vary with scaling. For enthusiasts, it's not about the money - it's about having the best. You can have multi-monitor setups that might be better, but that's an entirely different conversation.
Now that we have 4K Hz monitors the best triple-monitor gaming rig would be a 3 x 4K Hz gaming rig which would really drive up the GPU requirements. This is why we have NVLink with the additional bandwidth for next level gaming setups like triple 4K and triple 8K monitors United States: Find other tech and computer products like this over at Amazon.
